Cheap food and well presented! A good variety of stock to peruse! Highly recommend Aldi if you haven't been before!
I love this shop & I just can't help myself because every time I shop here, I always go over budget. That's only because I want everything in the store. I almost need 3 trolleys every time. So many specials and things I didn't know I had to have until I saw them here lol
Asked if they could open a register this morning after they opened. Was asked was I paying in cash or card. I replied cash so she said 'use this one, ill be back' pointing to a register. I said thanks and even if I wasn't using cash, I dont work here so won't be serving myself. She whispered something to her co worker as I started unloading. As more customers approached the register I was standing at, she decided or remembered I was waiting so came over and started to put my items through. She asked to look through my bag, no issues with that, handed it over so she could open it to look through. My 6yo asked me why was the lady upset and I replied I had no idea why all I did was ask her to open a check out. She then started at me saying it was shop policy and she asks everyone to look through their bags. I told her I was fine with that, it was her attitude and energy about opening a register and how she didn't like my reply about their self served registers. She then told me "if you don't like it just leave then" all flustered and red faced. So I wished her the day she deserved. Does she not have any idea that some people just don't want to use the self check outs and if you don't like serving people dont work at a supermarket?!?! Dont recommend Aldi at all....they just as bad as Coles and woolies.....least there the staff don't tell you to leave when you ask for service.......
Well, we all love Aldi for their lower prices--even with the hike on everything they are still lower.
However, today I am compelled to complain about a young customer service girl I encountered this morning at the Yamanto Aldi on checkout 2 at 10.28am.
She seemed out of sorts--the older gentleman two people ahead of me was having some trouble with the eftpos machine and she became visibly frustrated with him.
Following this, the couple directly ahead of me made it through the checkout without having their pile of shopping bags checked.
Then it was my turn. I had no shopping bags with me as it is my habit to pack into my car boot. We exchanged pleasantries and the young girl started to put my shopping through. She then asked to check my personal handbag. I was completely gobsmacked to be honest as I have only ever been asked this question for this particular handbag 3 times in the 13 years I have owned it! It is clearly NOT bigger than A4 size (210mm by 297mm which is the National Retail Association guidelines for personal handbag checking).
Anyway, I point blank refused and stated the NRA size guidlines. She responded by refusing to continue service. I asked to see the manager so she got on her headset and had a conversation I couldn't hear with someone who I presumed was the manager. This lasted all of a minute or so. She then proceeded without looking at me and without a single word of apology to continue putting my groceries through the checkout.
At this point being unimpressed with her attitude I asked if she was a new employee. She said "no" and then proceeded to defend her actions.
Aldi, your store at yamanto is the second store in Qld that I have entered and been asked to have this particular non-A4 size handbag checked!!! The other was at Kippa-Ring. Usually, I am impressed by your employees. Please, retrain your staff on bag checking policies.
Thankyou
Such a great ALDI Shop 🤗
Staff really nice and provide a truly personal service.
No wonder they regularly beat the Big Two by miles with Smiles 😄 …
Great staff, have most items I need and they open extra check outs asap. I never have to wait long to get through. The National Banks need to have a look at there system.
My experience was ok, just browsing throughout the store. It's a shame they didn't have a lot of stock on some milk, but otherwise, ok, kinda disappointed that aldi has now got a self-serve checkout with card only.
I shop at Aldi for certain items that are of equal quality to the other supermarkets but much cheaper. Their weekly "table" specials are interesting and at times good value.
